      Rick Cochran, President & CEO

Rick Cochran
President and CEO

Rick Cochran founded Mobile Medical International Corporation (MMIC) in 1994 and has served as President & CEO since the company's inception. MMIC is recognized as the leading manufacturer and developer of rapidly deployable, fully integrated and self-contained mobile solutions.  Mr. Cochran has grown the company from a mere concept to encompass two distinctly separate product lines.  The commercial product line serves several market segments including hospital renovation, rural outreach, disaster readiness and international needs while the military product line provides a variety of hard and soft wall shelter solutions for U.S. and international militaries and the homeland security market.
With great passion and tenacity, Mr. Cochran has strategically assembled one of the best world-class teams consisting of engineering experts and sales and administrative specialists who share the same goals and desires to make a positive difference in the world around them.  Through dynamic product development and global markets served, Mr. Cochran has received national attention and recognition with awards from the Smithsonian Institute to being named the National SBA Person of the Year.
With this level of achievement and projects around the globe Mr. Cochran has utilized his significant influence to attract not only the finest team members, but also a highly respected and influential team of board members.  Currently, R. James Nicholson, former Secretary of the Veterans Administration and Paul K. Carlton, former Surgeon General of the U.S. Air Force are two of the members who are actively engaged with MMIC in strategic business development.
Prior to launching MMIC, Mr. Cochran founded a healthcare consulting company specializing in the planning and development of ambulatory surgery facilities to address the spiraling costs of healthcare by helping physicians develop cost-effective ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).  Mr. Cochran, through his understanding of the complexities of ASC development, focused on design parameters, fire safety concerns, life safety matters, state and federal licensing issues and regulatory concerns. He was able to consolidate his ASC expertise  and developed the first “standards of care” Mobile Surgery Unit (MSU) in the world.
Mr. Cochran's experience also provided the foundation for the development of MMIC into a company offering engineered solutions for both commercial and military healthcare delivery solutions.  These product lines have evolved into two distinctly, but inherently related product lines; the first being the MSU that has become the flagship for MMIC.  Mr. Cochran also developed the performance specifications and initial concept layout for the military product line based on the functionality of the MSU that provides "equivalency of care" U.S. health care standards shelter solutions to be taken to the forward battle lines.
Having vision far beyond a solitary product or single market, Mr. Cochran has utilized the MSU platform and performance standards as a flexible solution that has been configured as a laboratory/ pharmacy, intensive care unit, diagnostic and clinical space.  He has implemented the same principles with the military products by developing a “family” of deployable shelter systems that can be configured to meet a multitude of missions.
Expanding the business concept beyond manufacturing, Mr. Cochran has been an innovator by departing from a typical sales approach through the adoption of a leasing model.  This model allows hospitals and government health facilities to select an alternative to the acquisition of mobile services.  Expanding customer options even further, Mr. Cochran developed an “operational” model with MMIC as the provider of medical services within a department of corrections.
Mr. Cochran has published articles and provides presentations relating to MMIC product lines and services to military and commercial audiences around the world.  He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and has actively participated in professional development for 10 years with the Chief Executive Network (CEN) with CEOs from around the U.S.
